Tom Hanks Returns to Sea: “Greyhound” Sequel Sets Sail in 2026!

Get ready for more high-seas action! Tom Hanks is officially returning for the sequel to Greyhound, the hit World War II movie he starred in and wrote for Apple TV+. Filming is set to kick off in January 2026 in Sydney, Australia.

Hanks will once again play Captain Krause, and he’s also written the script for the new adventure. Director Aaron Schneider and producer Gary Goetzman are back too, bringing the original creative team together for another intense wartime journey.

This time, Captain Krause and the crew of the Greyhound will leave the Atlantic behind. The story will follow them from the beaches of Normandy all the way to the vast Pacific Ocean, where they’ll face new dangers and help turn the tide of World War II.

Talks are already underway to bring back other fan-favorite actors from the first movie, including Stephen Graham, who recently wowed audiences in Netflix’s Adolescence. While deals aren’t final yet, there’s strong hope that the original team will reunite.

The first Greyhound movie, released in 2020, was a thrilling hit. It showed a U.S. Navy commander battling German submarines early in America’s involvement in WWII, based on the novel The Good Shepherd.

This sequel continues the successful partnership between Hanks, Goetzman, and Apple, following their work on the WWII series Masters of the Air.
