Cynthia Erivo took on an intense challenge while filming Poker Face Season 2—playing not one, but five identical sisters! And to make things even crazier, she was balancing it all during the whirlwind press tour for Wicked.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Erivo admitted the experience left her completely drained.
“I had 11 straight days of shooting in New York. By the end of the day, I wouldn’t even know my own name,” she shared. “On days when I had to play four characters at once? Absolutely manic. But in the best way.”
Despite the exhaustion, Erivo jumped at the chance to take on such a demanding role.
“I knew my mind would be pulled in a million directions, but I thought, ‘If not now, then when?’” she explained. “I love challenging myself and pushing my limits.”
One of the highlights for her was working alongside Poker Face star Natasha Lyonne.
“We had so much fun. I’d look in her eyes, she’d look in mine, and we’d just go, ‘Oh, we’re playing. Let’s go!’ If I could do it again, I absolutely would.”
But before any possible return to Poker Face, Erivo is heading back to Oz. She’s gearing up to film Wicked: For Good, the second half of the highly anticipated Wicked movie, set for release in November 2025.
“My brain hasn’t fully processed that we’re about to start the next phase,” she said. “I’ve played so many characters before returning to Elphaba, but I’m excited.”
From solving mysteries to casting spells, Cynthia Erivo is proving she can do it all!
