David Blaine Filming Real Magic Around the World in New Nat Geo Series

David Blaine is taking magic to a whole new level! The world-famous illusionist and endurance artist is traveling across the globe to uncover the most mind-blowing, real-life magic in his thrilling new six-part series, David Blaine: Do Not Attempt, premiering on National Geographic.

Speaking at Disney’s D23 event in August 2024, Blaine shared his excitement about the show. “For 30 years, I’ve been with ABC Disney. But now, for the first time—with National Geographic—I’m doing something different,” he said. Instead of just performing tricks, he’s learning and showcasing incredible skills from people who have spent their entire lives mastering them.

“This series isn’t just about magic—it’s about dedication, passion, and the struggle to make the impossible look effortless,” Blaine explained. “These experts are sharing their secrets with me, and I’m failing, learning, and pushing myself like never before.”

One of the wildest moments? Kissing a King Cobra—the world’s longest venomous snake! Blaine admitted he was hesitant, especially as a father. “It took me a long time to do it because I promised my daughter nothing would go wrong.”

The series will also feature jaw-dropping feats, including a man who can submerge himself in fire without getting burned and another who can pierce his neck with a skewer—without injury. Blaine traveled to India, Japan, Brazil, Southeast Asia, and even the Arctic Circle to find these incredible people and their astonishing abilities.

As a lifelong fan of legendary escape artist Harry Houdini, Blaine sees this journey as a modern version of what his idol once did. “Houdini traveled to learn from the most skilled performers, but he didn’t have the access we have now. I’m lucky to be able to travel the world and witness real magic in action.”

Don’t miss David Blaine: Do Not Attempt—premiering March 23 at 9/8c on National Geographic and streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu!
