Filming Begins for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 — But What About Season 3?

Good news, Trekkies! The crew of the USS Enterprise is gearing up for more adventures as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has officially started filming its fourth season. Cameras started rolling on March 3, 2025, with production expected to continue until the end of July. But while Season 4 is taking off at warp speed, fans are still eagerly waiting for a release date for Season 3.

The fourth season’s journey began back in January 2025, when pre-production kicked off. This phase involved building sets, crafting props, and preparing costumes — everything needed to bring the Star Trek universe to life. Actress Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Chapel, confirmed that filming would start in March during an interview in late 2024.

However, the biggest question remains: when will Season 3 arrive? Despite two exciting teaser trailers shown at New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, Paramount+ has kept the release date under wraps. The best guess right now is sometime in May or June 2025, though nothing is confirmed yet.

What can we expect from the upcoming seasons?

While details about Season 4 are still a mystery, fans are hoping to see the series continue building toward the iconic Original Series crew. With Martin Quinn joining as Scotty, the show seems to be slowly piecing together the classic team we know and love.

So, while we wait for Season 3’s official release date, at least we know the Strange New Worlds universe is expanding. Keep your phasers set to ‘excited’ and stay tuned for more updates!
