Exciting news for movie fans! Cosmo Jarvis, star of the hit series Shōgun, is the latest actor to join Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey.

Filming has already started in Morocco, with plans to move to Sicily soon. The movie has an incredible lineup of stars, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and more. The Odyssey is based on the ancient Greek poem by Homer, written around the 8th century BCE. It tells the thrilling story of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, as he faces countless dangers on his journey home from the Trojan War. From battling the one-eyed Cyclops Polyphemus to resisting the enchanting Sirens and outsmarting magical beings like the nymph Calypso and the witch Circe, Odysseus’ journey is a classic tale of bravery and determination. Meanwhile, his wife Penelope waits patiently at home, weaving and unweaving a wedding train each night to delay marrying any of the suitors who have taken over their house.

The movie, produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas, is set to hit IMAX screens on July 17, 2026.

Cosmo Jarvis has been making waves in Hollywood, having won a SAG Award as part of the Shōgun cast. He’s also known for roles in Lady Macbeth, Calm With Horses, and Persuasion. Up next, he’ll star alongside Robert De Niro in The Alto Knights, as well as in the prison thriller Inside and A24’s Warfare.

With Christopher Nolan at the helm and a cast full of A-list talent, The Odyssey is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2026. Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic journey!
