The last season of The Handmaid’s Tale is one step closer to arriving!
Actors O.T. Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel recently announced that filming for the sixth and final season is officially finished.
Fagbenle, who plays Luke, shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram on Monday, Feb. 10. The pictures featured him with his co-stars, including Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, and Brugel.
“THAT’S A WRAP on the final season of Handmaids! It’s coming soon! Any predictions?” he captioned the post.
Brugel, who plays Rita, also shared a heartfelt Instagram Reel on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Her video included fun moments with the cast and crew, along with everyone showing off their dance moves on set.
“Decades from now, should you ask me what I remember of you, I will recount my very own liberation from a life that did not serve me. And the laughter. And holding hands with Margaret,” she wrote, referring to The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood.
She continued, “But most of all, without fail, I shall remember the dancing. That’s how love goes. #serieswrap.”
The popular Hulu series, based on Atwood’s novel, first premiered in 2017. It tells the story of a dystopian future where women are forced into servitude to bear children for powerful families.
The plot for the final season has not been revealed yet, but lead actress Elisabeth Moss teased what fans can expect.
“It definitely has final-season energy,” Moss told TVLine in May 2024. “It goes to many different places, and it is very, very surprising all the way through.”
Seasons 1 through 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale are available to stream on Hulu. The release date for season 6 has not been announced yet. Stay tuned!
