After months of anticipation, filming has officially wrapped on Countdown, the new Prime Video series starring Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, The Boys) and created by Derek Haas (Chicago franchise). Ackles took to Instagram to confirm the news, calling the six-month shoot a “beautiful ride” with a “fantastic cast” and “brilliant crew.” He even teased hopes for a second season.
Countdown follows LAPD officer Mark Meachum (Ackles), who is recruited into a top-secret task force investigating a shocking public murder. As the case unfolds, a deeper conspiracy threatens millions. The action-packed thriller also stars Eric Dane (Euphoria), Jessica Camacho (S.W.A.T.), and Violett Bean (God Friended Me).
Ackles, who was involved in the project from the beginning, shared how he instantly connected with Haas’s vision for the series. “There are some big twists and turns,” he teased, hinting at a gripping storyline.
With filming now complete, Countdown is expected to premiere in summer 2025 on Prime Video. Fans are already eager to see Ackles in his next action-packed role!
