Downtown Ocean Springs turned into a movie set this week as Hollywood star John Travolta was seen filming scenes for Cash Out 3, the latest action-adventure in the popular movie series. Travolta, wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a hat, was spotted walking along Washington Avenue near familiar local spots like Moxie Boutique and The Lady May restaurant.
Part of the street was closed Tuesday morning to allow filming, and curious locals gathered near Kilwins to watch the action unfold. Some even got to see Travolta up close and snap selfies with him. Extras on set were dressed like tourists, carrying shopping bags and wearing sunhats, blending in with the downtown vibe as they acted in the background of scenes.
Filming is expected to continue in South Mississippi for another two weeks, with locations including a golf course in Gulfport. Travolta was also seen dining at The Rack House Steaks & Spirits in downtown Gulfport, where fans say he enjoyed the crab cake special and a filet.
Though some parts of the street were blocked for filming, businesses remained open and accessible. The production also set up near The Roost Boutique Hotel on Porter Avenue, where crew and equipment could be seen in action.
Local residents are enjoying the excitement, with many posting their star sightings and behind-the-scenes moments on social media. Travolta, known for hit films like Grease and Saturday Night Fever, is bringing a little Hollywood magic to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
