One of The White Lotus stars just took a surprising jab at Mobile, Alabama, and fans aren’t too happy about it.
Actress Leslie Bibb, who plays Kate in the hit HBO series, was recently asked about her favorite filming location. She started off by praising the show’s Thailand setting, calling it “so different than any place ‘ve ever shot.” But then, out of nowhere, she took an unexpected swipe at Mobile—and even Toronto.
“I always get like, ‘Yeah, you’re going to Mobile, Alabama. You’re going to Toronto,'” she said, as if those places were the worst spots to film.
Ouch.
Bibb is no stranger to Mobile—she filmed About My Father there with Robert De Niro in 2023. So, what gives? Mobile might not have Thailand’s tropical resorts, but it’s got its own Southern charm!
Luckily, The White Lotus cast includes two Alabama natives, Walton Goggins and Sarah Catherine Hook. Maybe they can remind Bibb that Mobile deserves a little more love.
