It looks like Kelly Severide’s domestic side is making an appearance! A behind-the-scenes glimpse from Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 12 (“Relief Cut”)—set to air Wednesday, February 19—shows Taylor Kinney shirtless and cooking (or at least pretending to) on set.
Kinney’s On-Set Moments: Cooking, Golfing & Goofing Off
Crew member Anthony Lullo shared some fun behind-the-scenes shots on February 5, featuring Kinney whipping up a snack, playing with a golf club, and chatting with co-stars. The post also included scenes from Molly’s Bar, the firehouse, and even a skeptical-looking Captain Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg).
Off-set, Kinney keeps his real-life breakfast simple—no cooking required. In a 2023 interview, he revealed his morning routine consists of “two chocolate Oreos and two vanilla Oreos, dunked in whole milk.” Sounds like the perfect way to fuel a long day of filming!
Why Kinney Loves Filming in Chicago
For Kinney, Chicago Fire is more than just a job—it’s home. “The city has been good to me. I love it,” he told TODAY, reflecting on his long-running role.
He also appreciates the show’s lasting success. “It’s never lost on me how special it is to be a part of something with this kind of longevity,” he told Us Weekly in 2022, crediting creator Dick Wolf and the hardworking team behind the series.
The ‘Chicago Fire’ Cast Keeps Things Lively
Chicago Fire has earned a reputation as the wildest, most fun-loving set in the One Chicago franchise.
“Med’s set feels like a sophisticated dinner party, P.D. is a little rougher, but Fire? It’s a circus,” cast member Mayo joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “We’re loud, we’re laughing—very much like a real firehouse.“
