Exciting news for The Batman fans—Robert Pattinson has shared an update about the sequel’s filming!
Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II, which is set to hit U.S. theaters on October 1, 2027. Director Matt Reeves is also coming back to continue the story after directing the first movie.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Pattinson revealed that filming hasn’t started yet. However, he believes production will begin at the end of the year. When asked about the movie, he simply said, “It’s cool.”
While story details are still a secret, Reeves has hinted that The Penguin (played by Colin Farrell) will play a big role in leading into the next film. Andy Serkis, who played Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred, also shared that Reeves told him the plot—and he’s very excited about it.
The first movie, The Batman, was released in March 2022 and introduced fans to this new dark and gritty Gotham City. It starred:
- Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman
- Paul Dano as The Riddler
- Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon
- John Turturro/Mark Strong as Carmine Falcone
- Colin Farrell as Penguin
The movie followed Batman as he tried to solve a series of mysterious murders while uncovering deep corruption in Gotham City.
Although we have to wait until 2027 for The Batman Part II, it sounds like the team is getting ready to bring another exciting chapter to the big screen!
