If you’ve spotted bright pink flyers around Chicago, it’s a sign that The Bear is back in town! The hit FX/Hulu series is currently filming its fourth season, with cameras rolling all over the city—from the Music Box Theatre to a laundromat in Wicker Park, where fans believe Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) might live.
Last year, the show used the secret code name “Kubelik” while filming. This time, it’s going by “Four Seasons” as it captures scenes for the upcoming season. The production team has been spotted at Loyola University’s Downtown campus, Mr. Beef in River North, and several other locations around the city.
Chicago resident Alex Turntine recently saw boxes labeled “Carmy’s apartment” near a laundromat, sparking theories about where his character lives. “The Bear is filming on our street today, and apparently Carmy lives above our laundromat??” Turntine tweeted.
Even when the cameras aren’t rolling, the cast is out enjoying Chicago’s food scene. Over the weekend, Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie), and Ayo Edebiri (Sydney) stopped by the iconic South Side pizzeria Vito & Nick’s for some classic Chicago-style pizza.
Want to be part of the action? The show is still looking for extras! Casting calls include bartenders and a stand-in for chef Terry (played by Olivia Colman). Other Chicago-based shows like Chicago Fire and Chicago PD are also hiring extras.
Since its debut in 2022, The Bear has won multiple awards, including several Emmys and Golden Globes. With its deep connection to Chicago’s food culture, the show has highlighted famous spots like Mr. Beef, Kasama, Margie’s Candies, and Publican Quality Meats.
Fans can expect another season packed with drama, intense kitchen moments, and, of course, plenty of Chicago flavor.
